Welcome to the Tickets and Badges design tool documentation.
The design tool's controls, functions, and options will help you easily create your own design or edit an existing design. You will get amazing results with very little effort. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed by the options and tools at your disposal, they're easy to use, most have contextual help. This full documentation as well as in-editor/tool help docs are only a click away if you need help with something.
Simply click on a product that is the size and orientation that suits your needs. Orientation meaning: choose a horizontal (landscape) or vertical (portrait) layout. Most of our products give you this option.
Once you have your product page loaded, on the right you will see all the purchase options for that product. First, choose if you want printing on both sides of your product. Then depending on the product you have chosen, there will be different options to choose from. Make your choices from the options available to you.
Product Options List (Click to expand)
Print Option - 1 Sided or 2 Sided
Qty - The number of products or bundles you are ordering
Paper Choice - 100 lb gloss book or 10 pt cover stock
Lanyard style - Economy or Premium style
Lanyard Color - Black, Royal Blue, Red, Yellow or Green
Click on any light-blue highlighted topic and it will expand to reveal additional information!
If you make a mistake and have already submitted your design and made payment, but need 2 sided printing, a different style/color of lanyard (for badges) or another option not available on the side bar panel, give us a call at 714-294-0550 or 877-205-4090 to give us your special instructions or process the remainder of your order. We're here to help!
Time to design your product
Click on the goldenrod colored button that says, Customize this design. This will launch the design tool and load the following screen.
Editor screen diagram
Click on a button below to expand and learn more about it. Close it when finished to avoid distraction.
GO TO SIDE 1 OF DESIGN
By default when you open up a product to customize, you will be working on side 1. Use the arrows on the left and right of the canvas to go to side 1 and 2.
GO TO SIDE 2 OF DESIGN
To work on the backside, or side 2 of a product, use the arrow on the right side of the canvas. Keep in mind that if you do not select 2 Sided from the Print Options before you add the item to your cart, we will not print the 2nd side of your design. Both sides of the design will be saved, even if you forget to pay for it. Give us a call immediately to let us know. We can then process the remainder of your order via phone. We apologize, but changes cannot be made if you do not call us before we print your product.
COLLAPSE/HIDE LEFTSIDE TOOL PANEL
Click this button (bottom-left side of the canvas) to collapse/hide the left tool panel. This will help those with smaller viewing screens to have more room to work with their design as well as provides less distraction.
EXPAND/SHOW LEFTSIDE TOOL PANEL
Click this button (left side of the canvas) to expand/show the left tool panel. Click the Collapse/Hide button or on the gray background surrounding the design/product canvas.
Bottom button panel
Click to launch these instructions. Click on this same button or click on the big X in the top right of these instructions to return to your design!
If you want to undo your last change, click on the Undo button. Continue clicking on that button to go back in time on your design.
Didn't mean to undo? Click on the Redo button to undo the last undo!
Click to zoom in on your design and enlarge it for closer viewing.
Click here to zoom out on your design and get a wider view of it.
COPIED TO CLIPBOARD
This button only appears when you have copied an object (image or text - see Copy or Cut below). Whatever object you have copied or cut, will paste into your design when you click this button.
Top right button panel
If you want to start over completely, click on the Start over button ( found at the top right of the page/window).
Want to exit the design program without saving your changes? Click this button. Just remember your changes will not be saved. Click the button to the right of the Cancel button to save and submit your changes. (see next)
Click this button to save and submit your design. You will then see a proof of the final design. Click the submit button again to accept your design proof and proceed with adding the final product to your shopping cart.
Want to make more changes? Click the X button to go back and edit your design. After you have submitted the proof you will be returned to the product page. Instead of seeing the goldenrod colored button to begin customizing your design, you will now have a green Edit your design button. You can go back and edit you design until you process payment, even after adding it to your cart, as long as you have not finished the payment process. If for any reason you need to edit your design after that point, please call us right away before we begin printing it.
Left tool panel
Smaller screens like small tablets and cell phones will collapse/hide the left tool panel by default, to give you more room to work with your design. To open the panel, click on the Expand/Show button or one of the Background, Images, or Text buttons up top (black header bar). It may be difficult on very small screens. If you are having trouble, we suggest using a device with a larger screen to design your product, or you can give us a call!
To change your background color, click on the Background color button and then the Bucket button. (see next)
This button allows you to fill certain object with color like text, shapes or patterns. Use the dropdown list to choose from various preset palettes (including popular pantone collections), or choose My Colors on the same dropdown list after you have chosen your own colors from the color wheel.
CHOOSE YOUR OWN COLORS
Click this button to view the palette of colors you have saved, or by choosing My colors from the dropdown list of palettes. You can add as many colors to your own palette/My Colors as you need.
After clicking the My Colors Button, click the plus + button to launch the color wheel to choose your own colors. Click around the wheel to view various colors that will load in to the color spot. Once you find a color you like, simply click anywhere on the grey background surrounding the product you are working on and the color wheel will close. This selects the last color you clicked on the wheel and will also save your color so you can use it later.
To change/add a background image or to add new images to a design, click on the Images button. This will give you several options: Image Library, Upload, Facebook and Instagram button options. Images that are already in the template, that have been stretched as a background image, will hide it's tools. You will need to click down and drag until you can see the image editing tools. Reverse these steps to stretch an image for a background.
The Image library includes various themes, clipart, backgrounds, patterns/textures and a Basic Shapes category. Use the Basic Shapes to create areas that need a different fill color than the background (see below).
Working with shapes
Click on Basic Shapes from the Image library dropdown list. Choose a shape. You will then be able to edit the shape just like you can edit an image, plus you can change it's color with the Bucket button. (see Background color above for directions on working the Bucket button)
Working with patterns
Basic patterns can be edited like text and images. Use the Bucket, Layer and Transparency buttons and resize the shape the same way you resize images. (see Resizing an image below)
Working with images
Click down on an image and drag it to where you want it and let go of your click to place it. You can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move the selected image in small increments, either up, down, left or right!
Click on an image, then hover your cursor over the black and white circular arrow found above the image until you see a plus + sign appear. While the + sign shows, click down on it and then rotate the image clockwise or counter clockwise. Let go of your click to stop rotating the image.
Resizing an image
To stretch an image to cover all or part of the design, like a background image, click on the image to select it. Click down on a corner marker (box) and drag it to scale your image larger or smaller. Click on the middle markers (boxes) to stretch or shrink the image horizontally or vertically. This will distort the image and not maintain proportions. To keep proportions, use the corner markers. You may need to drag your image up or over to continue resizing it.

COPY TO CLIPBOARD
To copy an object (text or image) to the Clipboard, select an object and click this button. Only one item can be copied to the Clipboard at one time. Use this to copy something to the back or somewhere else on the same side. Now you will see the Clipboard button appear in the bottom panel of tools (bottom far right). Click that button to paste the copied object where you want it. The original object you copied will remain where it was.
CUT TO CLIPBOARD
Clicking this button will remove the object and copy it to the clipboard.
Click here to remove an image from your design without copying it. Don't worry, you can always add it back in the same way you add other images.
Choose where you want your image to line up on the canvas. This helps you center or align an image left or right, etc.
The Layers button allows you to move an object above or under other objects (text or other images). Select the object you want to send up or down, click on the Layers button and you will get a new popup. The up arrow moves the selected object up one layer and the down arrow moves it down one level. The double-up arrow moves it all the way to the top (over everything else) and the double-down arrow moves the selected object all the way to the bottom, just above the background color.
Clicking on this gives you a sliding scale that allows you to make the selected image (or text) less visible. Create a see-thru/ghost effect or slide it back to completely solid again.
Click this button to upload images from your device. You will be prompted to choose an image. Images must be 1 mb or less. Please see our artwork Specifications Guide if you have any questions.
Any image(s) you upload will be saved along with your design when you submit it for a proof. If you should accidentally delete it from your design while working on it, you will find the image you uploaded by clicking the Upload your own image button again.

WORKING WITH TEXT (CONTROLS)
Besides the buttons we have already mentioned above concerning images; Bucket, Copy to clipboard, Cut, Remove, Layers & Transparency - which work the same way - below those, the next 3 rows of buttons are as follows:
This allows you to write text or edit text that is already present in your design. Clicking on it drops down a white field where you can type or edit text. You can reopen this field by double clicking on the design text. Also, clicking the Text toggle button (see below) will open or close the white text field. Clicking outside the design in the grey canvas area closes the text editor panel of tools completely.
Make a line or block of selected text bold. If you need part of a line of text bold and the rest regular (or any other effect) you will need to make separate lines or blocks.
Slant a line or block of selected text. If you need part of a line of text italic and the rest regular (or any other effect) you will need to make separate lines or blocks.
Underline a line or block of selected text. If you need part of a line of text underlined and the rest regular (or any other effect) you will need to make separate lines or blocks.
Align a line or block of text to the left.
Align a line or block of text to the center. (or center text)
Align a line or block of text to the right.
Change the size of your text by clicking this button and choosing a text size from the dropdown list that appears.
Choose how far apart you want the lines in a block of text.
Puts a black outline around the text. You can adjust the size of the outline. You can also remove the outline.
TEXT FIELD TOGGLE
Clicking this will open or close the white text field so you can edit or add text. You can also double click on existing text to edit it.
CHOOSE FONT FACE
This is a dropdown of the fonts that are available to style the text you are editing. Nothing is permanent until you submit your design proof, so you can go back and change any of the text editing features.
Click down on text and drag it where ever you want it. You can also use your arrow keys on your keyboard to move the text in small increments, either up, down, left or right. Text can also be rotated, just like an image. (see image rotating above)
OTHER TEXT EFFECTS
Add a shadow or highlight to your text by copying text to the Clipboard and then pasting it in again. Color the text lighter, darker or however you wish and place it above or over the other text using the Layers button options. (see image Layers instructions above)
COMING SOON !!! - WARP TEXT EFFECTS!
Developers are working on a text warping tool that will allow you to curve, stretch, pinch and manipulate text.
By default we will add series numbering to your tickets. We add the numbering after you have submitted your design and process your payment. If you do not want numbering, remove it from the design, add a note to the Paypal cart payment process or give us a call right away. If you want series numbering on your badges, add a note during purchase or give us call at 714-241-8443 to let us know!

You can use the file upload button within the Design Editor, or you can use the Upload your Files button on the product page.
Our application currently only allows up to 1mb file size per upload in the Design Editor. You can upload multiple files of up to 1mb each into a design, but each instance needs to be under that limit. Your ready to print artwork can be of a larger file size.
